Parade
As in previous years, the Western Heritage Classic Parade will kick-off the weekend’s festivities on Thursday, May 10 in downtown Abilene beginning at 6:30 p.m. The Parade symbolizes the spirit of Midwest Texas with hundreds of entries this year ranging from stagecoaches and chuck wagons to riding clubs, antique tractors, floats, and nostalgic cars – all portraying the western spirit. Participants in the parade include riding clubs, ranch teams, local businesses, surrounding communities and other individuals who take part in Western Heritage Classic events during the weekend. A significant part of the parade is the recognition of the individual who is named as the Official Parade Marshall.
