Matched Cowboy Horse Races
The
matched horse races have become one of Western Heritage Classic’s most
popular events. Sponsored by
Bandera Drilling Co., Inc., skilled riders will compete for a purse of $1,000 on
Saturday, May 13th. The Matched
Horse Races features a rider and his horse – racing against another
team. In order to get good
seats for this high-energy event, you’ll want to arrive long before the
first flag drops at 4:00.
The books open at 2:00 p.m. the day of the race. All horses must have a current Coggins and 45-day health certificate to enter. The first heat begins at 4 p.m. sharp at the southeast area of the Expo grounds.
